ABOUT OUR FULL LINE STENCILS

How do they work?

  • The chalk goes through a screen
  • Use for any type of quilting
  • Completely reusable

Full Line Stencils are the perfect Pounce Pad partner! Use them for all types of quilting-from a longarm machine to hand quilting in a hoop and everything in between. They are transferred by the chalk powder in the pounce pad being forced through the screen mesh as it’s swiped across the surface of the stencil. They can be used over and over again. They don’t have a true opening so a pencil will not transfer them. The design is transferred onto the quilt top so quickly – usually in less time than it takes to sharpen a pencil! Say goodbye to the fatigue in your hands caused by gripping the pencil and tracing. Your fabric will no longer get stretched and pulled by a sharp pencil point. We truly have reinvented quilting stencils!

Why are they special?

  • Tough Nylon Mesh, virtually indestructible
  • See the entire sewing line with ease
  • No right or wrong side

Full Line Stencils look light and delicate but they’re a tough piece of nylon mesh, virtually indestructible. The area that we don’t want the chalk to go through is closed off so our designs transfer complete- they’re not broken with the bridges used in plastic cut stencils. When you use a Full Line Stencil, you get to follow the complete line as you sew. There is no right or wrong side, most designs have registration marks to help align repeats and we have hundreds to choose from! Rather than tracing all those lines you just swipe the chalk-filled refillable Pounce Pad over the mesh and are ready to sew in no time.

Do they require special care?

The stencils are easy to care for, they are waterproof. You can even use paint through them, just rinse them off with water when you’re done. If they get wrinkled just iron them flat again! Use a medium to medium-high heat setting and no steam when ironing them. It’s a great way to clean them if you’re using the Ultimate Pounce Powder. Always wipe them after using the colored chalks to make sure there is none left over to get pulled through if you use white chalk afterward. You can wipe them with a dry or damp towel. A micro-fiber towel works also well. They are very easy to care for and will last a very long time!

  • Iron them to remove any Ultimate Chalk or wrinkles
  • Extremely long-lasting
  • Rinse with water if using paint through them

ABOUT OUR POUNCE PADS

If you’re like most quilters you’re probably tired of spending countless hours marking your quilt top. With the Quilt Pounce, it’s never been easier to do the most tedious part of making a quilt. Using a Pounce pad basically involves two steps. First, position the stencil where you want to transfer it and second, rub the Pounce Pad over the design to transfer the chalk powder through the mesh openings of the design. It really is that easy! See our frequently asked questions for more information.

Ultimate Quilt Pounce Pad: Iron off white Chalk

This is our most popular Pounce Pad, the chalk disappears with heat! Turn your iron on to Med-High. It also washes out. It’s actually tailors chalk in a ground-up form, it won’t build up on your iron or fabric. The adhesion to your fabric is great! It shows up on bold colors, dark's, and just about any solid color. Anything that has a white marble to it or prints that have white in them will make this chalk very hard to see, that’s when you would use one of our color chalks.

Quilt Pounce Pad with Blue Chalk: Brush/Wash off

Blue Chalk is for marking on multi-colored fabrics, busy prints, etc. The chalk shows up well on dark fabrics as well as lights. If blues are a popular choice of fabric in your quilts you may want to use Pink Chalk. Sizing spray like Best Press or ordinary hair spray (aerosol) can increase the adhesion on fabrics when necessary.

Quilt Pounce Pad with Barely Blue Chalk: Brush/Wash off

This chalk has a minimal amount of blue pigment added to Ultimate Chalk. It does not iron off and adheres well. For use on very light color fabric.

Quilt Pounce Pad with Pink Chalk: Brush/Wash off

Pink Chalk, is for marking on multi colors, busy prints, etc. The chalk shows up well on darks as well as lights. If pinks are a popular choice of fabric in your quilts you may want to use the Blue Chalk. Sizing spray like Best Press or ordinary hair spray (aerosol) can increase the adhesion on fabrics when necessary.

Quilt Pounce Pad with our Original White Chalk: Brush/Wash off White Chalk, for use on dark fabrics. This chalk may need some sizing spray or hair spray (aerosol) to increase the adhesion in some fabrics.

For any of the brush-off chalks and even for the Ultimate, we offer our Magical Lint Brushes to aid in removing any chalk residue left behind after sewing over the lines. They work great and cost only $5.00.

Are you a lover of Best Press? We have a spray bottle that is perfect to deliver a light even mist of Best Press instead of the globby unpredictable spray that you get with the bottle it’s sold in. Buy the Best Press in the bulk sizes and use these Spray Bottles instead! The money you save on the bulk purchase pays for the sprayer. And as we hear so often from the women in line at shows talking to each other “if you’re only buying one, you’re making a mistake, you need one for water and one for Best Press!

ABOUT OUR ULTIMATE MARKING PENCIL

The Ultimate Marking Pencil - for your dark fabrics, it stays on and irons off!

  • Easy to sharpen, pick one up from us if you don't have one
  • Doesn't dry out and you don't need a refill, use the entire pencil
  • Touch up light spots of pounced on designs or embellish beyond the stencil by adding your own flair (this pencil doesn't go through the stencil)

I purchased stencils, powder and pencils from you at a recent show and used the pencil for the first time yesterday. I have a quilt panel that has one too many borders and wanted a straight line to cut on to remove it. So I grabbed my ruler and my new chalk pencil and in one movement had the most beautiful straight line. If that was a craft-store bought item, I would have a messy line and a pencil that probably had to be sharpened several times. I was so frustrated with them! Your pencil is so wonderful to use. I'm so happy with it!

Please be sure to test your fabric as with any fabric marker, you will need to know if it will iron off perfectly as it should. There is a very small segment of fabric that this pencil has been known to shadow on. If it shadows, it doesn't come off. Chances are you will never run into one but testing is never a waste of time.
